Parlez vous...

I'm learning French right now in preparation for when we go to New Caledonia. I know there no one will speak English, and it would be nice to not have to have Jacob translate every single thing I hear.

I'm setting aside an hour a day to practice.

This has been a really great tool to practice French verb conjugation.

This website is a lot of fun. You listen to French songs and try to type in the words as you hear them.

Any other language learning helps that have worked for you?

I am a little behind on your posts for some reason.
1- good work on the French. Wish I could give advice- don't have much experience to go from.
2- Yoga- I have also started to dip into it this pregnancy and have loved it. No personal instructors- just youTube, but have still seen how it has helped. That would be pretty awesome to have a personal Indian instructor. I think that's pretty cool. Learn everything and then come be my instructor, kapish?
3- Love that food list diagram. I have a refrigerator, and a printer- I am going to print it out. :)

Oh, I was also going to tell you that we've had William bite himself (as suggested by my mom) so that he really knows what it feels like. That backfired as well. He just kept gnawing on his hand until I pulled it out because it was making me nervous. And then he continued to do it for like a week- just would randomly bite his hand, hard enough to leave an impression and turn it red.

You should also reread the comments on that post- in particular the last one that my sister-in-law wrote.

And as far as understanding time-out: yes and no. He understands more or less what it is and clearly that its a consequence of biting. He doesn't understand it enough for it to really be a teaching tool, which is why we've decided to stop and try something else. Thus the plea for help because we weren't sure what else to try.

(Jacob)- I'd just bite 'im back. It that wrong? He'd probably think it was fun though. Come to think of it, I have wanted to bite Jordan before as well. He just has a way about him that makes you want to chomp down on his finger or shoulder.
